The OCS varsity football team faced off against Newkirk this past Friday, October 6. The Saints went into the game confident and hoping for their sixth straight win of the season. They came out of the game victorious, keeping their winning streak going.
The Saints are still undefeated after a Newkirk decimation, dominating the Tigers in a 54-to-7 victory. This major win was highlighted by a stellar performance from Senior quarterback, Garret Wilson, who passed for four touchdowns on the night.
One of the commentators at the game, Isaac Shoop, revealed that it was not just the quarterback who had a good game, stating that all the players on the OCS football team "pretty much did their job [and] had a great game, and we came out with a blowout win."
With this win, the Saints are looking to ride their wave of momentum into the playoffs. One of the Junior linebackers, Preston McMinn, takes this perspective on the game saying that "the game went really well, and we were able to come out with a big divisional win to set us up, hopefully, for playoff success."
The Saints varsity football team only has four games left in the season before playoffs come around. However, Saints fans should not forget to celebrate the massive 54-to-7 victory picked up by the OCS football team this past Friday.
