Across all of America, students come together at sporting events for one sole cause, the student section. What exactly makes a good student section?

    A student section plays a pivotal role for multiple reasons during sporting events year round. First, the student section is a glimpse into the school spirit amongst the student body. Dedication of showing up and showing out from high school students shows deep rooted school spirit and pride for one's school. A good student section is contagious to the fans watching. Chanting, traditions, noise level, sportsmanship, intensity, support, and the sheer size of the section cause fans to want to cheer for their team also. 

The Saints Kingdom is nothing short of all these reasons that make student sections so great. 

    The OCS student section, also called the "KINGDOM", is ranked #9 amongst various polls across the state. OCS high school students love being in the student section. Students participate in events like a pushup board, dressing up in crazy attire, chanting to the players, and encouraging their own team. Mia Chesley says that the student section "creates a super fun atmosphere for everybody there, but isn't as hype as it used to be." 

    The OCS Sports Media team is dedicated to encourage students to participate in all aspects of the student section. Whether it be dressing up or getting pumped when the Saints score, students need to be engaged and excited for all aspects of the game. Hudson Hahn says that we can improve the student section by "having school spirit and showing up to all the games."
