This past weekend the Varsity boy's golf team headed to the state championship fresh from a regionals win. The team felt confident going into the tournament and battled hard for the win. The tournament lasted for two days with Monday being 36 holes, and Tuesday being the Final 18.
The Saints came away with the win bringing home the trophy. It was a tough match and the team came away with the win by one stroke. This shows how much impact each player had and that every single stroke matters.
Ryder Cowan won the individual trophy with a combined score of 203, and
Bryant Polhill was close behind winning third in the individual category with a 208. Cowan and Polhill were named East and West All-Stars.
Brayden Grande, who was there to support the team said, "They started to fall behind and count themselves out, but they could see the finish line. Despite tough pins and strong winds, they played some spectacular golf through the last four holes and let Heritage Hall beat themselves."
Twenty-nine years ago, the Saints won state for the first time, and here they are again taking home the trophy. The team hopes to continue this success for years to come.
