The OCS Saints Academic Team had a great season. They put in lots of hard work that led them to compete in the 4A Area Tournament. They spent many hours memorizing random facts and trivia in order to do well at the competitions. In addition to competing at the Area Tournament, they hosted the event for the other qualified 4A teams.
The OCS team went 1-2 with a convincing win over Bethel and two very close games against Heritage Hall and Bishop McGuinness.Â
There were many new faces on the team this year. Rookie William Winfield really stood out. He looked back on the season with a positive attitude. "My time with the academic team was great this year. I learned a lot about competition and teamwork," he said. He also says he really looks forward to competing again next year.Â
Technology teacher and Academic Team Coach, Holly Emig, played a big part in the team's success. She hosted many practices and get togethers for the team in her classroom. "I am so proud of our team. They showed the love of Christ with their hospitality at the Area Tournament and the overall way they conducted themselves around their peers from other schools. In my eyes, they are all winners." Â
Even though this year's season has drawn to a close, they are already planning next year's practices and strategies. We're proud of you, Saints Academic Team!Â
