On Saturday, September 28th, the OCS Saints Cross Country team will be competing at the Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival in Fayetteville, Arkansas! It has become a tradition for the team to make the journey across state lines to run on the University of Arkansas's cross country course.
The Saints are all looking forward to the opportunity to take their talent to the neighboring state.
Senior runner
LOGAN AUSTIN elaborates, "The team has really been working hard these last few months, and I couldn't be more excited to see where the work will take us at the Chile Pepper Festival!"
Excitement has been building since last year. Because the Chile Pepper Festival is one of the biggest stages for high school running, the team believes that this will be one of the best ways to prove to themselves that all the summer training was worth it. The race easily brings together over 2,000 high school runners from all over the country.
"I'm just really excited to go spend the weekend with the rest of the guys and girls on the team to grow our relationships, and hopefully, we are able to set some personal records while we're at it," explainsÂ
KOWI SUNRAY, a junior.
With the great start to the Saints Cross Country teams here in Oklahoma, they want to expand that to Arkansas as well!
