The OCS Lady Saints golf team is heading to the State Tournament after an impressive performance at the Elk City Regional Tournament. The team secured a 4th place finish with a combined score of 375, earning them a spot in the state competition.
The lowest score of the team being Samantha Baumann ('27), who carded an 88 (+17), placing 9th individually. She was closely followed by McCall Smith ('26) with a 92 (+21), Camryn Schmedt ('27) at 95 (+24), and Quinci Moore('27) who finished with a 100 (+29). Rounding out the team was Everly Oakes ('25), who posted a 104 (+33).
The Lady Saints showed both skill and determination, pushing through a competitive field at Elk City Golf Course to secure their state spot. Their strong and consistent play proved to be the key difference as they edged out other schools for the spot.
The team places 4th all together and have definitely gained valuable experience this year. More than that they built a strong bond as a team and the game. There is much moe to come from this team in the future seasons.
