As many know the OCS Cheer team won State at Union High School on September 24 where they narrowly snagged the victory by one point over Bridge Creek.

OCS easily had the largest fan section of any of the schools cheering them on. The victory snapped a five year Newkirk winning streak and many were ecstatic for this but there is a looming shadow that reigns over the program, slowly creeping its way to the forefront.

They have no boys returning to the program. This leaves the Cheer team with a very interesting challenge. They want to find strong spotters to help with air acrobatics but aren't willing to steal any players from other programs such as Football or Basketball. But even if they return to the non Co-Ed format, they are losing a very small amount of Seniors so the returning team will be strong.

This years performance has set the very high and even without any returning boys the program is likely to thrive in competition.
