The Final Buzzer
Â
The Saints girls basketball team had a very successful season. This success came on both the court and by showing and spreading the love of Jesus Christ through their way they carried themselves and competed. The girls played their final game of their season last Saturday. They ended it with a loss to the Lindsay Leopards. Before this loss they were able to pull out wins on Thursday and Friday against Comanche and Marrietta. The saints ended the season with a 10-14 record.Â
Ava McIntyre was the saints leading scorer this year. She is a junior who has played basketball in all 3 years of her high school career. She had a very impressive season that included reaching 1,000 points in her career. When asked about the end of their season she was quoted saying "This was my favorite season of OCS basketball so far. I loved being with my team and doing everything with them. I am so thankful to the coaches, the support, and most importantly God for making this year the best one yet, and I am so proud of how everyone has grown individually and together."
Kynzee Champ is also a junior on the team. She really enjoyed this season. She is already looking forward to next year's season. She was a team captain this year and even started some games for the Saints. She was quoted saying "I am so grateful for this season! I have made some of the best friends through this team, and we have been through so much together. This season we set a record for the most games the Lady Saints have ever won in a season, and I couldn't be more proud of my team!"
We all applaud the girls for a very successful season. This last season was arguably the girls best season in the last 4 years. We are all looking forward to the next season for the girls. We wish them the best of luck in all they do in the future!Â
