The track and field season at OCS is flying by, leaving many surprised at just how quickly it's gone. With just a few meets left, athletes and coaches are reflecting on a fast-paced season filled with growth, grit, and standout performances.
The season kicked off on Thursday, February 27th with the Practice Meet, but as always the season has not been slow. The season has been racing by, especially because athletes miss school so often. Now, with there only being 3 meets left, and regionals coming up on Saturday, May 3rd, the team is focused on making every remaining race count.
"I blinked and the season was basically over. It's been flying by faster than our top sprinters. But honestly, the team's been locked in—we've shown up, dropped PRs, and made every meet count!" says Logan Austin
In just a few short weeks, several athletes have already posted personal records and school records, including [insert athlete names or event highlights]. The team has seen strength in events like [list standout events], and the momentum continues to build heading into the final stretch.
"As we near the end of the season we have to finish strong in hopes of making state and accomplishing our goals!" states Avery Estes, a sophomore.
With only a couple of chances left to compete, the team is ready to finish strong and leave it all on the track.
