Springtime is buzzing with activity, especially for the OCS Saints Baseball team. They've been hustling through a series of games over the past few weeks, including six crucial district match-ups. Here's a recap in case you missed the action.
The Saints kicked off their district journey with a bang on March 2, facing off against Starr Spencer in a double header. It was a dominant display as the Saints racked up over 20 runs in each game, shutting out their opponents entirely with wins of 26-0 and 23-0.
Moving on to March 12, the Saints took on Chisholm in another double header. The competition was fierce, with Chisholm grabbing the first game 11-1. But the Saints rallied back in style, clinching the second game 1-0.
Then, on March 25, the Saints returned home for another double header, this time against Blackwell. They put on a show for their fans, crushing Blackwell with victories of 13-0 and 14-4.
Looking ahead, the Saints are gearing up to face Perry on April 1 and 2 at 5pm. These upcoming games are pivotal for securing the top spot in the district and setting themselves up nicely for the State championship. Junior
Calvin Laverentz emphasized the importance of these matches, noting, "Perry has a very good team, so this is a huge game for us."
While the results so far have been impressive, the Saints know that their journey to the State tournament is far from over. However, strong performances like these greatly enhance their chances of making it to State and positioning themselves favorably. So, mark your calendars, because these games are vital to the success of the Saints' season!
