For the past week, the OCS boys soccer team has been awaiting the news on whether they will make the postseason. Unfortunately, they will not be participating this year as they were just short in the standings.
The Saints faced tougher competition this year as it was their first season playing at the 4A level. Even though they faced more challenging opponents, they still managed to produce a winning record in district play.
In their last game, the Saints played perhaps one of their best games of the season against Weatherford; however, they ended up losing this game. This put OCS in a three way tie with Woodward and Newcastle. Playoff spots in this case are determined by goal differential of which OCS sadly had the lowest between the three schools.
In district standings, the Saints ended up placing fifth, narrowly missing the playoffs by one place. OCS right back, Connor Davis, looked back on the season stating, "It was a good season and we sadly did not make the playoffs."
Even though the Saints did not make the playoffs, they still had a productive season. Team captain, Hudson Hahn, pointed out, "We were a much better team this season than last, so it's a shame we were in 4A and didn't get to play in the state playoffs."
