Monday, April 7th, students and teachers in Botany Club went on a class field trip. The classes first stop was the Myriad Botanical Gardens in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The Myriad Botanical Gardens is one of Oklahoma City's most beautiful and vibrant green spaces. The Myriad Botanical Gardens is a 15-acre botanical garden in Oklahoma City's downtown district. Visitors can explore the Inasmuch Foundation Crystal Bridge Conservatory, which features exterior grounds that are free to roam around.
The Botany Club leaders are Ashley Myers and Rebecca Robberson, who are also JV and Freshman Volleyball Coaches. Mrs.Robberson said, "We had a great morning taking the Botany Club to the OKC Botanical Gardens! Quite a few of the students had never been before and they really enjoyed experiencing the gigantic greenhouse. The biodiversity represented in that space in the middle of the city makes this science nerd so happy." Both teachers also teach in the science department, and are in next door neighbor classrooms.
Botany Club consists of taking care of plants and learning how to understand the basics of planting and growing. Tennis player, Trendon Ayers, said, "On Monday I had so much fun at the botany field trip! We started by looking at all the plants in the botanical garden which was really cool we even got to walk around and play in the playground which was so fun that was def my favorite part we finished by eating at flower child and then dessert at Roxie's it was a good way to start the week and get closer to ppl who I don't always talk to I'm sooo excited for the next field trip."
Botany Club is an exciting way to get connected to God's beautiful creation.
