OCS Athletics Announces Volleyball and Cheer Coaching Staff Updates

Edmond, OK — Oklahoma Christian School Athletics announces several key additions and promotions within its volleyball and cheer programs.

Will Ethridge Named Head Volleyball Coach

Leading the next chapter of the volleyball program is Will Ethridge, who has been named the new Head Volleyball Coach.

Coach Ethridge comes to OCS after a successful career as Head Coach at Edmond Santa Fe. During his time at ESF his team qualified for the state tournament 29 times, with 6 runner-up and 7 State Championship finishes. Ethridge was named to the Oklahoma HS Coaches Hall of Fame in 2023.

Josie Thomas and Ryan Forgety Join Volleyball Coaching Staff

Joining Coach Ethridge on the volleyball staff are Josie Thomas and Ryan Forgety, who will serve as Assistant Volleyball Coaches.

Thomas a former collegiate volleyball player at the University of Central Oklahoma brings collegiate level experience to the coaching staff. Thomas comes over from Edmond Santa Fe as well where she was an assitant coach for Coach Ethridge.

Forgety with a strong coaching background has been coaching since 2012. Coach Forgety has coached a variety of sports included baseball, football and girls soccer. Forgety joined Coach Ethridge at ESF in 2019 as the Freshman Head Coach.

Brady Boxwell Promoted to Head Cheer Coach

In addition to the volleyball staff announcements, OCS Athletics is proud to announce the promotion of Brady Boxwell to Head Cheer Coach.

Since joining the cheer program, Coach Boxwell has demonstrated exceptional leadership, dedication, and a commitment to creating a positive environment for student-athletes. A former collegiate cheerleader at the University of Oklahoma, Coach Boxwell brings many years of cheerleading experience to the program. Boxwell has a very extensive resume in the cheer world, where she is also involved with managing National Level Competitions.

Steven Johnson Named Competitive Cheer Coach

Supporting the continued expansion of the cheer program, Steven Johnson has been named the new Competitive Cheer Coach.

Johnson a former assistant coach for the Oklahoma City Univeristy Stars brings years of National Level competition coaching to the program. While at OCU Johnson helped lead the OCU Stars to multiple NAIA National Championship Tournaments. 

 

Please join us in welcoming Coach Ethridge, Coach Thomas, Coach Forgety, and Coach Johnson, while congratulating Coach Boxwell on her well-deserved promotion.
