EDMOND — Oklahoma Christian School won its fifth consecutive season opener Tuesday night, sweeping the Carl Albert Titans at the OCS Gym in Edmond.
Senior Miley Myers led the Lady Saints with 11 kills, and sophomore setter Kaylin Cook finished the match with 21 assists.
OCS opened the night by taking the first set, 25-12. Cook sparked the offense, tallying three kills for the Saints. Freshman Aven Payne recorded her first two career kills as a Lady Saint in the set. Senior Rachel Megna and junior Brier Behymer anchored the defense with four digs apiece.
The Lady Saints carried that momentum into the second set, jumping out to a 5-0 lead and continuing to apply pressure. OCS never let up, holding Carl Albert to single digits in a dominant 25-8 win. Sophomore Marley Robbins contributed three aces, while Myers added five more kills and Cook tallied three assists in the set.
Carl Albert showed some life in the third set, trading points early and scoring five in a row to take its first lead of the match. But the Lady Saints responded, rallying with four straight points, followed by a six-point run to take control. Senior Rylee Roof recorded four kills, Myers added another four, and Cook chipped in nine assists as OCS closed out the match with a 25-15 win to complete the sweep.
