The Oklahoma Christian School Lady Saints have been on a hot streak in tournament play, winning 10 of their last 12 matches and sweeping both regular-season matchups against Community Christian and Lincoln Christian.
The Lady Saints competed in the Bulldog Showdown at Lincoln Christian and finished second with a 5-2 record, with both losses coming to the OKC Storm. On Day One, OCS defeated Class 6A Bartlesville 2-1 and 5A McAlester 2-0 before falling to the Storm 2-1. They closed out the day with a 2-0 win over 4A Lincoln Christian.
On Day Two, the Saints opened with what turned into a doubleheader against 5A Booker T. Washington. OCS won the first meeting 2-1 to advance to the semifinals, where they faced Booker T. Washington again and swept 2-0 to punch their ticket to the championship match. In the final, the Saints pushed the Storm to five sets before falling 3-2.
Following the Bulldog Showdown, the Saints traveled down I-35 to Community Christian School and defeated the Royals 3-2 in a regular-season matchup, restarting their win streak.
The Lady Saints then traveled to Carl Albert for the Carl Albert Invitational, where they went 6-0 and brought home the championship plaque.
OCS opened the tournament with a 2-0 win over rival 4A Crossings Christian, then beat 6A Norman 2-0 and 5A MacArthur 2-0 to close out Day One.
Day Two brought more success as the Saints defeated Christian Heritage Academy 3-0 in the semifinals and then edged Norman 3-2 in the championship to claim the title.
The Lady Saints extended their streak at home with a 3-1 win over the Lincoln Christian Bulldogs, pushing their winning streak to seven matches. That ties last year's longest streak and leaves OCS one victory shy of the program record.
The Lady Saints face the Casady Lady Cyclones on Tuesday, Sept. 2, at 6 p.m. at Casady School in Oklahoma City. They return home Thursday, Sept. 4, to host the Mount St. Mary Rockets at 6 p.m. in Edmond.
