The OCS Saints wrestling team is gearing up for the Blanchard tournament this Friday and Saturday, where they'll face some talented competition. This tournament is a key opportunity for the Saints to test their skills, and see were they are as team as they start off their season.
"I feel like we are all well prepared to go and perform our best this weekend," says senior wrestler Henry Soper.
The team, led by coach Colby Robinson, features a mix of skilled seniors and talented underclassmen. The team took home two dual wins this past Tuesday December 3rd over both Putnam City West and Southeastern high schools. The team looks to ride out their victorious momentum into the tournament this weekend.
The tournament's match ups this weekend will test the Saints' technique and knowledge. The Saints high school team is aiming to bring home some hardware, and most importantly, gain valuable experience and tactics that they can use later this season to help them win.
Senior wrestler Jace Lillie says, "this being our first tournament of the year we are really looking to see were we stack up individually and then learn from this weekend."
The Blanchard Invitational begins at 12 p.m. Friday, and the Saints are ready to compete and prove themselves on the mat.
