OCS Boys Soccer vs Stillwater

On Tuesday, February 27, the OCS boys soccer team traveled to Stillwater to take on Stillwater's varsity team. With this game, the Saints finished out their preseason and gained much needed experience and fitness needed for the upcoming regular season.

The weather conditions were not optimal with the temperature being in the lower 40's and high winds blowing the ball around. In the end the Saints lost 3-0 to the Pioneers. However, center back Kowi Sunray had something positive to say, "I'm glad we got to go out onto the field, and even though we lost, we gained experience for the season."

Stillwater is a 6A school, which meant that the Saints were playing against stiffer competition than usual. In previous years, OCS soccer has been listed as 3A; however, this year, they have been moved up to 4A. Midfielder Hudson Hahn reflected on the steep competition by stating "It was good to try ourselves against the 6A team since they were really good quality, and it will be good practice for 4A this year."

Even though the Saints lost the game, they showed great effort which only points towards success in their upcoming season. Fans of OCS athletics should be excited to come out and support Saints soccer this year.
