The Holy Bowl

Last Friday night, The Saints of Oklahoma Chrisitan School clashed armor with the Crossings Christian School Knights.

Known as the "Holy Bowl," the epic rivalry is one that gets the blood pumping and the tensions rising.

Leading up to the game, both sides butted heads with each other on social media going back and forth. It was obvious to note that Crossings's goal was to get in the head of the Saints players.

Bad blood was active, and the fire was lit.

Starting out Friday night, the team captains of the Saints Grammy HerringWyatt FitzgeraldMatthew Johnson, and Spencer Schwandt  interlocked arms and marched on the field ready for battle.

At the start of kickoff, it was clear to everyone on Crossings' strategy. They were after the minds of the Saints trying to draw unsportsmanlike conduct penalties. However, the Knights' plan backfired as they started the game off with self wounding penalties. In total, they would end the game with 10 overall flags costing them 86 yards.

Through 4 quarters it was clear who came to play. OCS would dominate the game's entirety.

One side did the talking while the other let their game do the talking. When asked about how he responded about Crossings trash talk,  Senior Linebacker Spencer Schwandt said, "It lit the fire in me and I was ready to go out and give it my all." Spencer and the team backed up their claims by winning 35-3.

Senior Quarterback Wyatt Fitzgerald threw for 4 touchdowns with 305 yards passing. Meanwhile, Junior Atticus Sage went off with 12 receptions and 157 yards along with 3 touchdowns of his own. When it was all over, it was clear who let their work do the talking.
