The Oklahoma Christian School Saints saw their season come to a heartbreaking end in the Class 4A Regional Tournament last week. Despite strong performances, the Saints dropped both games and were eliminated from playoff contention.

In Game 1, OCS faced Pauls Valley and battled to the very end before falling 8-7. The Saints kept the pressure on with clutch hitting and the skills that they have gained from training all year, but a late surge from Pauls Valley edged them out.

"We left everything out there," said senior Calvin Laverentz. "It just didn't go our way." 

In a must-win Game 2 against Weatherford, the Saints again came up just short, losing 7-6. The Saints jumped out early and went down swinging to the very end, but Weatherford answered back and took a narrow lead. 

"I'm proud of how we fought," said senior Spencer Schwandt. "These guys never quit all season, and I wouldn't wanted to do this with anyone else."

OCS finishes the year just shy of a state tournament appearance. Still, the Saints' gritty performance and teamwork made for a memorable season. This year it was easy to see that this team of guys gave it everything they had, in each workout, swing, and inning they had fun and gave God the glory every day.
